24/08/2010 Invited by Drum Major Danny Brown, Baxterbear met the World Famous Royal Scots Dragoon Guards who have been at the forefront of pipe music since first achieving worldwide fame in 1972 when their haunting version of “Amazing Grace” rocketed to the top of the charts all around the world. Since then the band have continued to lead the way in pipe band music. Their latest album “Journey” topped the classical music charts in the UkKand won album of the year at the 2009 classical BRIT awards. dragoons_2

Baxterbear joined  stellar line up featuring some of the UK’s top comedy talent including Susan Coleman, Sarah Millican, Fred MacAulay, Robin Ince, Josh Howie, Jack Whitehall and John Hegley! This kind-hearted teddy bear has had many adventures, including becoming a pilot with the AMREF Flying Doctors Service way back in the 1960s. Baxterbear has been helping raise funds and awareness for AMREF both in the UK and in Africa, promoting events and activities such as our Radio 4 appeal and Edinburgh Festival ‘Stand Up for African Mothers’ comedy gala, and there are plans afoot for more activities in the future.

04/08/2010 Baxterbear meets HRH Princess Anne at the Invited Rehearsal for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. He was invited by Colonel Simon Vandeleur, Garrison Commander of Edinburgh Castle. pre_tattoo_2
