Baxterbear meets Scot Hastings at Watsonians rugby match!

Baxterbear was TREEKLED to attend the Watsonians vs The Co-Optimists rugby match at Myreside, Edinburgh. The match raised funds for the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Research and Baxterbear was TREEKLED to be invited by Watsonians head coach, and former Toulouse, Edinburgh and Scotland player Marcus Di Rollo. watsonians2 Euan MacDonald and his father Donald have been supporters of Watsonians for many years, and the club often helps the Euan MacDonald Centre. Motor Neurone Disease is in the forefront of the rugby world’s mind now more than ever, with former South Africa player Joost van der Westhuizen revealing that he suffers from the disease. Baxterbear also met Scott Hastings, one of Scotland’s most capped players. Hastings played for Watsonians until 2002, and also represented the British and Irish Lions. Baxterbear was TREEKLED to meet Scott – he had already met his brother Gavin at a charity match in 2010. 6 Baxterbear was TREEKLED to see such an exciting rugby match. The Myreside crowd were treated to a high-scoring thriller, with Watsonians running out 36-22 victors. 2 The Co-Optimists are an invitational team, and include rugby players from all over Scotland. Watsonians play in the Scottish National League and has produced a number of international players in the past. 5 Baxterbear was TREEKLED to make a difference for the Euan MacDonald Centre.
