Hats for Headway Day takes place during Action for Brain Injury Week on Friday 18 May 2018 and is a simple, fun, and easy way to raise money for brain injury survivors around the UK.

This is a very special cause close to the Baxterbear team.

Pilot Baxter and owner of the very first Baxterbear (his mascot) suffered head injuries back in WW2 whilst taking photos from his plane on a photography missio.

You can read Baxterbear’s story here.

Much more personally, Headway support have been phenomenal in helping the founder of Baxterbear meet the many challenges of a brain injury. Bringing much needed positivity to the situation. This is the reason this newsletter has been less frequent than it used to b.

Headway do amazing work supporting brain injury survivors and their families, from local groups to the Headway nurses, on hand for help, advice, and a listening ear.

Someone suffers a brain injury every 90 seconds in the UK, from accidents, assaults, military injuries, playing sport, or even a fall during daily life.

Every year, Headway asks it’s members to wear a wacky hat, donate £1 to Headway and post a picture on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #HatsForHeadway.

Here’s a selection of #HatsForHeadway Baxterbears.
