The Beckhams get Baxterbears!

Baxterbear was TREEKLED to find out that football legend David Beckham was presented with Baxterbears for his children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Harper and Cruz. The former England captain was visiting the British Military Tournament with Prince William and he visited the troops involved, before taking his seat to watch the spectacular show. 1453463_10151720158071571_2025609153_n Baxterbear has been a football fan since meeting Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew in January 2012. Now he hopes that David Beckham can teach him how to take a brilliant free kick! David Beckham has long been a supporter of the British military, and visited troops in Afghanistan in May 2010. He is also a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and supports Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS. The former Manchester United player was also a founding member of the Malaria No More UK Leadership Council, along with current Wimbledon champion and top tennis player Andy Murray. 1458449_10151720158396571_142902338_n David Beckham played for many of the world’s best football teams during his career, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Milan, Los Angeles Galaxy and Paris Saint-Germain and played in three World Cups. Baxterbear wheelies into BMT!

ABF Logo   all Baxterbear was TREEKLED to be official mascot of the British Military Tournament once again, and performed in front of Prince William and football legend David Beckham. Baxterbear made his appearance in front of thousands at Earls Court, London, driving a quad bike. Baxterbear had already driven a quad bike when he was in Afghanistan with an army padre in 2011. The British Military Tournament is the largest military pageant in the world. It was started in 2010, as a revival of the Royal Tournament, which ran between 1880 and 1999. It is a spectacular event which raises money for three important military charities: The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. This year’s BMT was the best yet, with displays including The White Helmets Motorcycle Display Team, a battle re-enactment led by Lawrence of Arabia, a tribute to members of the military who served in the Falklands, and more. This was the fourth time Baxterbear was the official mascot for the British Military Tournament. He was also mascot in 2010, 2011 and 2012. bb bmt
